Eighty  years  old  teashop  witnesses  the  rise  and  fall  of   Taiwan tea industry. From the import of tealeaves through Tamshui, evolved to Wenshan Bochun Tea, Mochu Tiekuangin and latter Dongding Oolong Tea, Ali Mountain Tea, Lishan Tea, Dayu Peak Tea, Fusho Mountain Farm tea, etc. Taiwan high mountain tea to present "HwaGung Tea". Chunfeng Tea Shop starts from early day sales and markets deep into all tea territories.
To pursue better quality tea, it enters Lishan and Dayu Peak etc, areas to produce tea internally. From the original wholesaling of tealeaves, it set up tea production factory and began tealeaf production and manufacture. The purpose is to provide more and better genuine Taiwan High Mountain connoisseur Tea!

【Chunfeng chronicle -- The origin of "Chunfeng Tea Shop" 】 
 In 1918, with the outpouring of Kwangdong and Fujien populations, Mr. Du Fulai followed the immigration tide and settled in Huludung (now called as Fengyuan City), Taichung Hsien, Taiwan. At that time, Taiwan is under Japanese control. The society is just beginning. The life of people is pretty harsh.
Great great grandfather Mr. Du Fulai, worked in Mr. Du Tienchu's Chuntai Tea Shop, by chance, owner Tienchu sold the teashop to great great grandfather Du Fulai. In year 1921, great great grandfather changed the name of the teashop to Chunyuan Tea Shop。
"In 1923, Chunfeng Tea Shop was officially established". At that time, great grandfather Mr. Du Jiang, due to war, was wondered in Singapore and worked on local odd jobs. Learnt that great great grandfather established teashop and needs help, he traveled by ship and back to Taiwan.
In year 1923, great grandfather Mr. Du Jiang officially changed the name of the shop as "Chunfeng Tea Shop". Thus, he was the founder of Chunfeng Tea Shop.

【Carry on the heritage and forward to the future】

    Went through trouble and agitation never seen before, different impacts and awful conditions, in year 1941, great grandfather Mr. Du Jiang was jailed by Japanese government without cause. Family members and relatives come back to keep the teashop running under difficult conditions. In 1949, after Japanese loss the war, Great grandfather Mr. Du Jiang was freed and continued the Chunfeng Tea Shop business.

　Originally, after grandfather Mr. Du Hwuncheng graduated from Taichung First High School. He has a chance to continue on advanced study. However, due to the bad conditions, he cannot continue on advanced study. At age 22, as soon as he was graduated, due to high school grades, he was selected to work at reserved force assistant section. In year 1949, he resigned his position in reserved force assistant section and came home to take over the Chunfeng Tea Shop. Gradually, enters the second stage development.

  At that time, during year 1959-1960, under the great effort of grandfather Mr. Du Hwuncheng, he traveled through all the tealeaf production sites in Taiwan. He studied the production and qualities of all types of tealeaves. Gradually, he established the brand name for Chunfeng Tea Shop. Then in year 1989, he felt that Taichung Hsien area tea merchants do not have a strong backup organization. The forces cannot be focused. He led Taichung Hsien tea merchants and established the "Taichung Hsien Tea Merchants Association". It established a good organization foundation for Taichung Hsien tea merchant elders. It focuses on the sales of all types of flowering teas, Oolong teas and High Mountain Tea.

【Develop new situation】 In year 1981, father Mr. Du Shichua, under the leadership of grandfather, gradually matured and independent. His requirement of tealeaf quality is also very high. He then entered Nanto Luko, Dongdin, Chiayi Ali Mountain, and Lishan Dayu Peak to study ways to produce good tea. Through continuous testing, he selected the Lishan HwaGung area (near Fusho Mountain Farm), with cloud and fog throughout the year and large day and night temperature difference, to set up "HwaGung Tea factory" as professional high quality high mountain tealeaf producer.

　　There are hardships during the factory construction. However, there were assistances received from good friends, such as Mr. Shen Jicha of Yushen Tea factory, Mr. Ko Wenkou, Village Head of Taiho Village, Chiayi Hsien, and Mr. Hsieh Kouchen etc., to establish today's "HwaGung Tea Factory". Thus, from the original marketing and sales of tealeaves, the company enters the production and manufacture of tealeaves to ensure the quality of tealeaves and provide the most protection for the consumers and to produce the highest quality Taiwan high mountain tea.

　　In June 2006, we received HACCP and ISO22000 international certification. Under high internal requirement, the quality of tealeaves reaches a higher level. Company also took initiative and requested Agricultural Laboratories of Agricultural Commission for assistance to establish Residue Insecticide Testing Station. Before the harvesting of fresh tealeaves, first the residue insecticides are tested. Unless the tests show no residue insecticide, the harvesting and processing, production may then proceed. Coordinating with Agricultural Commission's Tealeaves Improvement Site promoted tealeaves production resume policy, From planting to production, all information are transparent to provide consumers with the healthiest and safest high quality Taiwan high mountain tealeaves!Chunfeng Tea Shop, through four generations' tealeaves wholesales and retail sales for eighty years, the business is now changed to the business of Taiwan High Mountain Tea, Lishan tea, Ali Mountain tea, and Shanlin Creek Tea etc. high quality tealeaves. The shop has moved to different places. The present location is at Fuhsin Rd. Fengyuan City, Taichung Hsien. It maintains the familiar traditional flavor! Since 2007, Mr. Du Shichua serves as 7th year chairman of Taichung Hsien Tea Merchant Association. The purposes are that, through the effort of every one, the outstanding tea from all the tea merchant association members of Taichung Hsien, such as Lishan tea, Dayu Peak tea, and Wulin tea etc., may be introduced to many more people! They work together for the future of Taiwan tea industry. More people may enjoy good Taiwan teas with higher quality tea and more protection!
